

The National Board of Directors serves as the policy-making body for Alpha Nu Multicultural Sorority Inc. Together, nine elected sisters procised over all business and affairs of the sorority. All members of the Board are alumnae of Alpha Nu and are in good standing with the sorority.
The Board lays the foundation and the vision for the future of Alpha Nu. In addition to meeting at our anuversary and alumni weekend, the Board of Directors meets every few weeks and conducts business via teleconference on a regular basis.

Maria Mazcorro
PRESIDENT ELECT she/her/hers
Maria Mazcorro serves as the President-Elect and Finance Director for Alpha Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc., marking her second term on the National Board after first serving in 2016. A proud sister, Maria is passionate about supporting Alpha Nu’s mission to uplift and empower women through sisterhood, service, and leadership.
Professionally, Maria is the Annual Giving and Events Manager at The Northwest School in Seattle, where she leads fundraising efforts to expand access to education and build community among families.
Maria is a first-generation college graduate who believes deeply in giving back and creating pathways for others to succeed. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family and trying out new restaurants around town.
Myriah Haley
MEMBERSHIP & EVENT DIRECTOR she/her/hers
Myriah Haley joined Alpha Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. in Spring of 2012 with the Nu Captivating Ladies. She currently serves at the Board's Membership and Events Director, where she works closely with our Alpha chapter at Washington State University on organizational compliance. Now in her second term on the National Board of Directors, she's passionate about keeping our sisters informed and connected by hosting various events throughout the year.
Myriah hopes that she is able to utilize her event planning expertise to keep the sisterhood fun and alive in Alpha Nu. Notably, when thinking about her continued work with the organization she stated, " I have enjoyed being a part of Alpha Nu and its evolution. Can't wait to see where else we go and what else we do!"
Yuliana Alvarez-Garcia
ALUMNI RELATIONS DIRECTOR she/her/hers
Yuliana is one of Alpha Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc.'s founding mothers and has remained active in the organization since its inception. As Alumni Relations Director she strives to cultivate a strong community bridge between both our active and alumni sisters.
Outside of her work on the board, Yuliana owns a flourishing construction and interior design company, Construction Chic.
Areli Orozco
RECORDS DIRECTOR she/her/hers
Areli Orozco is currently in her second year in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Southern Mississippi. She plans to pursue her Ph.D. right after completing her master's degree. Some of her passions include conducting research specifically on the criminal justice system and Latinos, cooking, playing with her dog, and watching true crime shows.
Maria Young
MARKETING DIRECTOR she/her/hers
Maria first joined the organization in 2012, and had the opportunity to serve the organization in a variety of positions throughout her undergraduate career. Now on the board, she currently serves as the organization's Marketing Director, bringing in her love of typography and graphic design to life with every Alpha Nu publication.
Professionally, Maria is an award winning middle school special education ELA teacher in New York City. She uses her design expertise to differentiate content materials to ensure all students can access grade-level instructional content.
